here you go guys, sorry I took so long I just woke up...
thanks again to everyone that played last night.

so at the last highly successful game night, the GSers tried out a few different gametypes, and even invented a couple.
May I say: INSANE FUN. So, for the benefit of everybody,
we're going to compile a list of some of the gametypes you can try out with your friends and get yourself ready for the next gamenight:

The names are a mix of what got the biggest laugh and some I came up with. If you guys can think of better ones, by all means suggest.
These we played this last Gamenight. You guys want to rate these on a 1-5 star scale? Chime in if I missed anything important.

"Contents Under Pressure"
Map: Shipment or Killhouse (we could only play on Shipment)
Mode: Free For All
Settings: No Air Support No Perks No Sprint* Score Limit / Timer to your preference. Make it high.
Rules: no special rules, but it's recommended that you have close to a full 18 players for this one. When we had less people in the room, we switched to pistols only.
The action is absolutely ludicrous. 10 kill streaks in the span of 3 seconds. The no sprinting (*optional) really jacked up the level of desperation

"West Side Story"
Map: Any with a wide, open street that looks suitable for a gang rumble. We used crossfire.
Mode: Team Deathmatch.
Settings: No Air Support, No Perks, No Health Regen, Double Health, No Respawn, No Time Limit
Rules: Both teams meet at a set location and form one big circle. Each team picks one person to step into the circle and battle, Mano y Mano, Knives only.
It helps to sing some showtunes during the match to psych up your teammates. Last gang standing wins. This was my personal highlight of the night.

"Zack the Ripper" (classic Zombies / Infection etc.)
Map: According to preference.
Mode: Team Deathmatch
Settings: Headshots only, No Air Support.
Rules: An old stand by: One person starts as a zombie, and the rest of the players are survivors. The zombie can only use a knife, and the survivors are
limited to pistols. No Grenades. No using martyrdom, or C4 and Claymores either
When a player is "eaten" by a zombie, they switch teams and become a zombie. This continues until one survivor is left.
They are rewarded by being the new zombie. This gametype usually needs to be ended manually as there's no way to in-game score this mode. No being sneaky
as a survivor and going someplace that's impossible to get to with a knife. Depending on what the room agrees on, you can say ladder only accessible rooftops are out.
Hard to get to platforming locations are off limits, you smart asses.

There are a few variations on this gametype, try using only single-shot rifles like the G3 and M14. I like playing the variant where the zombies are allowed to use
smoke grenades, and the last survivor is allowed to use his primary weapon when he alone stands against the zombie horde.

"Pistols at Dawn"
Map: According to preference. A wide street, or an open grassy area is best.
Mode: Free For All
Settings: No air support, No Perks, No Health Regen, No Respawn, No Time limit. Hardcore settings. Headshots only
Rules: Everybody meets at the set location much like the West Side Story Game. Two people are picked and they line up back to back in the classic
dueling fashion. A ref begins the duel by counting out a set number of 'paces' (we used 5) at five, the duelists turn and fire. Pistols only, no grenades, smartypants.
Last man standing wins.

We didn't try this one out fully because the room turned into a pogo / idiot running contest, which is great fun in itself. I had a few thoughts to try and make it more
interesting: When the duelists turn, they have to let go of the left thumbstick. No moving, but ducking is allowed. Also, there's a one clip limit. If you run
out, you'd better start praying to your warm and fluffy god, so pick your shots, McClaine. If both duelists run out, they can either cycle back into the circle, OR, in a more entertaining option, they get a three second headstart to run before everyone else in the room get to open up on them with any weapon until they're both dead. Maybe they'll learn to aim next time.

"Enemy at the Gates"
Map: Any sniper-friendly map with clear divisions. i.e. the gorge in Creek or the Platforms in shipment
Mode: Team Deathmatch
Settings: Headshots only
Rulets: Bolt-action sniper rifles only, and each team has to stick to a side. Maybe we should call this one "Dodgeball"

The following are some more gametypes I've heard of or were suggested, but we didn't get to playing. Again, add some more as you think of them. We'll pick
good ones to try out next gamenight, I'm sure.

"Cobrasnakes" Map: According to Preference, but I imagine it would get interesting with some place with tall grass like Overgrown or Creek.
Mode: Team Deathmatch or Free For All
Settings: No Air Support, Double Health. No Perks.
Rules: Very Simple. You can only crawl on your stomach, and knives only. No using explosives, captain clever. Since it's pretty slow going, you might want to set boundaries.

"Muskets"
Map: Any map that looks like a classical 19th century battlefield is good.
Mode: Team Deathmatch. This one will really need a full room for the best results.
Settings: No Air Support. Headshots only* (optional)
Rules: Each team appoints a Commander (who must equip an rpg), and at a set meeting place, both teams form firing lines facing each other, at an agreed upon distance away from each other. When the commmanders have their line in place, they fire an rpg into the air to signal, then, one of the generals chucks a grenade well away from any players. The grenade's explosion signals both teams to start shooting. No explosives and no moving off the line, soldier. (no left thumbstick when in place) I was thinking only the G3 or M14 should be used. or maybe bolt action Snipers. Just make the distance far enough to make it interesting. Maybe once a match, the commanders can signal a bayonet(knife) charge. Bonus points if you're the line getting charged and you don't break formation. Last firing line standing, Thye Glorey Marches On. Decide beforehand how many "rounds" there will be.

That last one sounds a little complex. and probably not fun at all. Maybe I should just go watch the History Channel.

Share and Enjoy!

The last one sounds fun to me, just need some dedicated people for it. And I think Enemy at the Gates should be named "Reach out to the Enemy"

These are my personal ratings based on the fun we had with the gametypes last night:

"Contents Under Pressure" 5 stars with a full room, 3.5 without
"West Side Story" 5 stars! JEEETS!!!
"Zack the Ripper" Zombies, for me is always a solid 3.5. Again, it improves with a bigger room.
"Enemy at the Gates" 3 stars
"Pistols at Dawn" 1 star, but we didn't really get it all pinned down last night. The pogo / idiot running session was easily a 5 star experience.

What did you guys think?

Bravo Baudolino! I laughed so hard just reading that.. God the shipment experience was the funniest, but West Side story - my fave.

Contents Under Pressure 4.5 (full) 3 (not)
West Side Story (5++)
Zack The Ripper - 4 but with more people im sure 5
Enemy at the Gates - 3.5 (it was too short - oops)
Pistols At Dawn - 2 Although the mock halo jumping was amusing as hell

What do you say we try again tonight? We can make some more? Anyone up for it?... Baudolino - you in? :)

If you are willing to you just need to be serious, no complaining that we aren't doing ALL real matches (maybe a few here and there) and remember you WONT get an XP for playing.
